Pulselink Receives 2007 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award

Carlsbad, CA-November 09, 2006 – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) has announced that Pulse~LINK has received an International CES Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Award for its CWave® UWB chipset. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products.
Pulse~LINK’s Whole-Home Interactive HD™ solution is the first technology to facilitate room-to-room distribution of multiple HDTV streams and multimedia content over both coax and wireless networks, simultaneously, from the same chipset. The CWave® PL3100 chipset is a hybrid wireless/wired solution enabling simultaneous operation of 1394 and Gigabit Ethernet over the existing coax backbone with the added benefit of high data rate wireless networking of peripheral multimedia devices within each room. Access to High Definition multimedia content throughout the home is achieved with guaranteed end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS).
CWave® enables unequaled whole-home High Definition networking with the necessary capacity for interactive capabilities including pause, fast-forward, fast-rewind and menu navigation. The ability to share high quality interactive content throughout the home, with guaranteed QoS and content protection, opens up significant new market opportunities for service providers and CE manufacturers of Set-top Boxes, HDTV Displays, Personal Video Recorders, DVD Players, Media Center PCs, and other multimedia devices.
“Pulse-LINK’s CWave® Whole-Home Interactive HD™ technology once and for all delivers on the promise of whole-home connectivity with No-New-Wires. We are sincerely honored to be recognized by leaders in our industry and to have CWave® showcased as an Innovations Award Honoree at the world’s largest consumer electronics show,” states John Santhoff, Pulse~LINK Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “This is a gratifying way to roll-out our CWave® products in 2007.”
Pulse~LINK will demonstrate its CWaveïf¤ technology in the TechHome TechZone (South Hall 2 Booth #26621) in addition to multiple high-profile partner booths at the 2007 International CES.
As a widely renowned consumer technology awards program that began in 1989, the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize achievements in product design and engineering. It is sponsored by CEA, the producer of the International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the voice of industrial design, committed to advancing the profession through education, information, community and advocacy.
Pulse~LINK’s CWaveïf” UWB chipset will be displayed in Mini-PCI card form at the 2007 International CES, which runs January 8-11, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
