Product Applications Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Product Application Engineer to fill this key position reporting directly to the Director of Applications Engineering at a fast growing UWB semiconductor company. For this position we are looking for someone to provide technical support to our customers.
In this position, the person will be involved with various consumer electronics solutions such as STB, DVD, and HDTV designs that incorporate our UWB products. This will require experience with interface standards such as 1394, GigE, HDMI, and USB along with video codec standards such as MPEG2, H.264, and JPEG2K. The applicant will be expected to develop an in depth working knowledge of the Pulse Link chipsets and reference designs, and be able to use this knowledge to provide technical support to our customer base. This person will also need to be familiar with coax and wireless communications technologies along with software and hardware development with embedded application processors and FPGAs.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist customers in resolving HW and SW technical and application problems that are associated with Pulse LINK products. This would include some travel to customer site.
- Work with customers on special development projects.
- Work with internal engineering groups to locate, edit and maintain the necessary technical collateral to help our customers.
- Author data sheets and application notes.
- Assist Pulse LINK Sales and Marketing team to support / participate in technical seminars and trade shows.
- Provide input on future enhancements of Company products.
- Develop and maintain product demos.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSEE degree, MSEE preferred.
- 5 - 10 years of applications engineering experience in the convergence video, broadband communications and consumer electronics semiconductor sector, with an emphasis on wireless communications and video streaming technologies.
- Must be competent and proficient in both HW and SW problem solving and debug skills.
- Possess experience in working with ODMs and OEMs in bringing a product from conception, through to functional prototypes, and ultimately to mass-production.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be a hands on, self motivated person.
- Must have the ability to travel 25-30% of the time with some international travel required.
